Contributing to the Identity‑Aware AI Security Workbook

The Identity‑Aware AI Security Workbook is an upstream open knowledge project maintained by enTTao, LLC and published at https://startmakingsense.org/. It is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution‑NonCommercial‑ ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0).

License and re‑use

  • The workbook is licensed CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0.
    • You may copy, share, and adapt the workbook for non‑commercial purposes, as long as you provide proper attribution, indicate changes, and license your contributions under the same CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0 terms.
  • For commercial uses, please contact enTTao, LLC to explore a separate commercial license.

We recommend using “TASL” attribution (Title, Author, Source, License), for example: “Identity‑Aware AI Security Workbook vX.Y.Z” by Joe Gottlieb / enTTao, LLC, available at https://startmakingsense.org/, licensed CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0.

Canonical edition and versioning

  • The version of the workbook hosted at https://startmakingsense.org/ is the canonical edition.
  • enTTao, LLC curates and publishes official releases, including version numbers and changelog entries.
  • Forks, adaptations, and translations are welcome, but only changes accepted through the contribution process below become part of the canonical edition.

Ways to contribute

You can contribute in several ways:

  • Propose edits or additions to existing sections (e.g., clarifications, better examples, updated vendor or standards information).
  • Propose new patterns, practices, or case studies aligned with identity‑aware AI security.
  • Suggest corrections to factual content, terminology, or references.

Submission expectations

By submitting contributions for possible inclusion in the canonical edition, you agree that:

  1. You are the original author of your contribution or have the necessary rights to contribute it.
  2. Your contribution does not knowingly infringe any third‑party rights.
  3. You license your contribution under the same Creative Commons Attribution‑NonCommercial‑ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0) as the main workbook.
  4. You grant enTTao, LLC the right to edit, adapt, and integrate your contribution into future versions of the canonical workbook, including combining it with other contributions.

If we accept your contribution, we will integrate it into a future version at our discretion and acknowledge you in a Contributors section, unless you request anonymity.

Review process

  • We review contributions for alignment with the workbook’s scope, accuracy, clarity, and coherence with the overall framework.
  • We may edit for length, style, or consistency, or request clarifications before inclusion.
  • Not all submissions will be accepted, but all serious efforts are appreciated and help shape the evolution of the project.

By submitting content (a “Contribution”) for possible inclusion in the Identity‑Aware AI Security Workbook (the “Workbook”), you agree to the following terms:

1. Scope of Contributions

“Contribution” means any text, figures, diagrams, examples, or other material you submit to enTTao, LLC for possible inclusion in the Workbook or related materials.

2. Your rights and responsibilities

  • You are the creator and owner of the Contribution, or you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
  • Your Contribution does not knowingly infringe any copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
  • If your Contribution incorporates third‑party material, you clearly identify it and confirm that such material is compatible with the Workbook’s CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0 license.

3. License for Contributions

You agree to license your Contribution under the same license as the Workbook: Creative Commons Attribution‑NonCommercial‑ ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0).

4. Rights granted to enTTao, LLC

  • Edit, adapt, and format your Contribution for clarity, consistency, and integration into the Workbook.
  • Combine your Contribution with other content and Contributions.
  • Include your Contribution (as edited) in future versions of the Workbook and in related non‑commercial derivative works distributed under CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0.
  • Use, reproduce, adapt, and distribute your Contribution in both non‑commercial and commercial editions or offerings of the Workbook, including under license terms that differ from CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0.

5. Attribution and recognition

  • Where feasible, enTTao, LLC will acknowledge accepted Contributions in a Contributors section or release notes.
  • We may decline to provide attribution where you request anonymity or where the Contribution is trivial.

6. No obligation to use Contributions

  • enTTao, LLC is under no obligation to include your Contribution in the Workbook or any related materials.
  • We may remove or modify Contributions in later versions as the Workbook evolves.

7. Relationship to Creative Commons license

  • These Contributor Terms do not modify the CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0 license applied to the Workbook for the general public.
  • For users who simply copy, share, or adapt the Workbook under CC BY‑NC‑SA 4.0, only the standard CC terms apply. These Contributor Terms apply only to individuals who choose to submit Contributions for potential inclusion in the canonical edition.

By submitting a Contribution (via email, form submission, or other agreed channel), you confirm that you have read and agree to these Contributor Terms.
