About
About startmakingsense.org
What this is
startmakingsense.org is a hypothesis‑driven publication about post‑AI society. We write down explicit recommendations, expose their logic, and give people and agents practices they can actually run.
We begin with the post‑AI enterprise and will expand into other domains such as global AI governance, labor markets, education, and personal agency.
What we publish
Hypotheses
Strategic Principle Hypotheses (SPHs) about specific domains. Each SPH includes:- A structured argument (Toulmin‑style claims, grounds, warrants, assumptions, qualifiers).
- A narrative essay that explains the recommendation in context.
Practices
For selected hypotheses, we publish:- A free Practice Summary describing how to implement the recommendation.
- An Interactive Workbook that provides checklists, prompts, templates, and decision trees. Some workbooks will be free; others will be paid.
How to read the site
- Start with Hypotheses if you want to understand what is being recommended and why.
- Move to Practice Summaries when you are considering how you might adopt a principle.
- Use Workbooks when you are ready to design and execute real changes; these go deepest and are optimized for practitioners and agents.
Versioning and critique
Hypotheses are not immutable doctrine. They evolve.
When feedback or new evidence changes our view, we:
- Publish an updated hypothesis and essay as a new version.
- Archive prior versions so readers and agents can see how the argument has changed over time.
