About startmakingsense.org

AI is transforming enterprises, economies, institutions, and society with unprecedented dimensionality and pace. This site represents a hopeful experiment whereby those that are curious and vested may make some sense of it all (or some part).

The site is designed to accommodate strategic principle hypotheses asserted with the best available logic, open to constructive critical dialogue, and evolving with new discovery. These hypotheses are intended to inform stategic choices made by enterprises, individuals, nations, and perhaps even a new world order committed to a healthy future for all in the post-AI era.

As the debut test case for this ambitious aparatus, the topic of enterprise AI security is considered through one primary and four related hypotheses attempting to answer the following questions:

What we publish

How to use this material

How will this evolve?

The recommendations are intentionally presented as hypotheses to be tested and either enhanced with feedback or adapted to reflect improved perspective. Links between hypotheses will naturally test the boundaries of each. Ultimately the hypothesis graph may evolve to present evidence that supports the surviving arguments and agentic code that accelerates progress.

What inspired the name of this site?

David Byrne and Talking Heads famously challenged us to “Stop Making Sense.” Our sense is that Byrne meant for us not to be so analytical and calculated and compliant all the time, which we find to be a helpful reminder for individuals and for enterprises and for nations (in the right context). But the post-AI era necessitates that we “Start Making Sense” of what it all means for society and how we should navigate our way forward. Thus the strategic principle hypotheses, humbly submitted for consideration and, hopefully, beneficial sense making and choice making.
